Water skiing

Water skiing born in Italy in 1930-40 on Lake of Viverone.

It immediately met the interest of a large host of fans. It is said that even the descendants of Agnelli’s family came to Lake of Viverone to play this new and interesting sport.

Starting from ‘80s opened one of the first school of water skiing, still open and active nowadays at “il Porticciolo”.

After also the Lake Palas Water Ski Park in Palazzo Canavese was created.

You can ski on one of the best basins of Europe, relax by the lakeside with your family and your friends or let your sight wander on magnificent landscapes.

Shielded from the wind and exposed to south-west, the Lake Palas Water Ski Park is a private basin at the foot of the Serra Moraine of Ivrea in the territory of Palazzo Canavese, in the province of Turin.

The field is around 570 m long and there are two artificial isles to help the start of skiers. Between the isles has been created a slalom field corresponding to FIWS standard and equipped with Goode Bubble Bouys for skiers safety.

 

In the end, you can practice wakeboard at “Cava di Tina“, a former gravel pit in Tina Canavese, not far from Ivrea.

This facility uses the uback cable system, that enable practising wakeboard safely and at reasonable prices. A rope running on two poles pulls the athlete along, as on a skilift at a 30 km/h speed, the ideal speed to not sink in water but slide on it and on the obstacles.

Beside wakeboard facilities, “Cava di Tina” structure offers a beach soccer field, a beach volley field, a BMX track, a bouldering structure and a trampoline.
